The application window for 2025-26 scholarships is now open. To apply, please review the initial instructions and cover letter below for application instructions and completely fill out the scholarship application (available for download at the bottom of this page).

Applicants for scholarship MUST reside in Legislative District 44A - go to this link to determine in which district you reside.

Scholarhships may only be awarded, by law, to individuals attending a Maryland college, university, or technical or career school. (Excpetions may be made for a "unique major" - see below)
Please do not apply if you do not reside in 44A or your intended school is not in Maryland.
Applications are due for consideration no later than April 1, 2025.

Criteria to ensure your application is considered include the following:
Students may use this Scholarship toward undergraduate, graduate, or professional studies, and may attend full time or part time. Award recipients will be notified on or before June 30th, 2025. High school seniors will be notified on or around their school’s senior awards ceremony.

- Applications must be postmarked on or before April 1, 2025 or emailed by midnight on April 1, 2025. Late applications will not be considered.
- Please review your application before mailing to verify that you have provided all the information requested. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Maryland law requires that scholarship recipients attend a Maryland college, university, or technical or career school. (If you are planning to attend an out-of-state school, to be eligible for our scholarship, you must enroll in an academic program that is not offered in Maryland - Please contact the Maryland Higher Education Commission at 410-260-4548 for further information about “unique major status.”)
- It is your responsibility to ensure that the application is legible. If you are filling it out by hand, please use blue or black ink and print clearly. Otherwise, the application will be returned to you.
